Risley E. (Rip) Linder, Sr., NHA, CRCFA, CASPExecutive Director
Rip brought nearly 30 years of experience in long term care to Covenant Place in 2009. He is responsible for successful leadership and management of operations as set forth by the Covenant Place Board of Directors. He began his career in healthcare as a direct caregiver in 1977 while attending the University of South Carolina. Rip has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Masters of Education. Licensed as an Assisted Living Administrator and Nursing Home Administrator, Rip has attended numerous leadership courses including Lexington Leadership and the South Carolina Executive Institute. He is also a Certified Aging Services Professional.
Crystal SpanglerBusiness Office Manager / Human Resources Director
Crystal joined the Covenant Place Team in 2013 as the Business Office Manager and Human Resources Director. Her responsibilities include all employee related matters, including benefits and payroll, as well as the accounting department. Crystal has over 18 years of experience in human resources, payroll, and business office management in the Long Term Care setting. She holds an Accounting Certificate and a Medical Billing and Coding Certification.
Jennifer Wilsey, RN, NHA, CRCFADirector of Nursing
Jennifer began her role as director of nursing in 2011. Prior to becoming the director, she served as the assistant director of nursing and began at Covenant Place as a charge nurse in 2004. Her responsibilities involve the oversight of all the nursing and nursing support staff to assure quality care to all residents in skilled nursing care. She also directs the Home Health Services at Covenant Place. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lander University and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Central Carolina Technical College. She is a Registered Nurse and is also licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator.
Melissa Colvin BeanDirector of Sales & Marketing
Melissa is responsible for the promotion of the Covenant Place lifestyle, which involves all aspects of marketing, advertising, and public relations. She also serves as a retirement counselor for prospective residents and coordinates the move in process. Melissa has been employed at Covenant Place since 2006. Melissa holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and is a certified dementia specialist. She is a Leadership Sumter graduate, a Tuomey Fellow, a member of several local civic groups, and has had leadership roles with the University of South Carolina, the Gamecock Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
Margaret Zeigler, AP-BCAssistant Director of Assisted Living & Memory Care
Margaret is responsible for supporting the Director of Assisted Living with compliance of appropriate guidelines and regulations of Assisted Living and Memory care as well as ensuring every resident's needs are met with dignity and respect. She conducts activities for our Connections Memory Care. Margaret joined our team in 2012 and has served in various capacities. Margaret is a board certified Activity Professional and serves on the board of the South Carolina Activities Professionals Association. She graduated from Clemson University in 1999 with Bachelors of Science in Travel & Tourism. Margaret truly appreciates how important independence is to our residents and how being active affects their physical and emotional health.
Brandy Layne, CDM, CFPPDirector of Food & Beverage
Brandy joined the management team in 2016 bringing over a decade of experience in the hospitality and health care industry. She is responsible for all aspects of the dietary and food service department. Brandy is a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional, and is ServSafe Certified. She has studied medical terminology, nutrition, and dementia. Staying very active in the local chapter of The South Carolina Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals, she serves as the Secretary of the Board and is on the Awards and Recognition Committee for the national level. Brandy was awarded the 2018 Certified Dietary Manager of the Year by the SC Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
Boyce HodgeEnvironmental Services Director
Boyce oversees, directs, controls, and schedules all maintenance and housekeeping in the interior and exterior physical plant of Covenant Place. Security personnel and security measures are also within his responsibilities. He has been an employee since June 2000 and was previously employed as a maintenance technician at an apartment complex. Boyce attended Central Carolina Technical College and served 21 years in the United States Air Force as a maintenance and chemical welfare instructor.
Jaclyn Evans, CRCFADirector of Assisted Living & Connections Memory Care
Jackie joined our team in 2016 as the Assistant Director of Assisted Living and Activity Coordinator for our Memory Care program, bringing with her nearly twenty years of experience in office management and customer service and was quickly promoted to the Director of Assisted Living. Her responsibilities include compliance of appropriate guidelines and regulations of Assisted Living as well as ensuring that every resident’s needs are met with dignity and respect. Jackie holds an Associate Degree in Business, Major in Office Systems Technology from CCTC and is pursuing a Business Management Bachelor’s Degree. She also serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at her church.
Rebecca Prosser, LPNDirector of Residential Health Services
Rebecca Prosser, LPN is responsible for the in-home care services at Covenant Place. These services are designed to improve the lifestyle of our independent senior adult. She is responsible for creating a tailored service plan to meet the resident’s needs. Along with her staff, they take care of a few more of the hassles so that the resident can live more independently. Rebecca joined us at Covenant Place in 2012. She has served in various nursing capacities in her career including intensive care, disabilities, prisons, and hospital floor nurse.
Tracie JonesResident Services Director
Tracie's duties include activities and event planning for our Apartment Living residents. She is also responsible for transportation services and the fitness and wellness programs. Tracie was promoted to resident services director after serving as the activities assistant since August 2020.
Lisa Boykin, LPNAdmissions Coordinator for Skilled Nursing Care
Lisa joined the Covenant Place team in 2013 bringing with her many years of experience in long term care. She is responsible for admission coordination for all new residents for long term care and short term admissions for outpatient rehabilitation in Skilled Nursing Care. Lisa also serves a vital role to assist the Director of Nursing in her duties to assure the highest of quality of care is given to residents in Skilled Nursing Care.
